Updating The Honeymooners meant dropping some of Ralph's trademark threats like "one day, Alice, pow! right in the kisser;" but the film does give him a shrew of a mother-in-law with whom to trade insults.
This new film version makes another big change: the central characters are black.
Hollywood Actress Rediscovers African Roots

Actress CCH Pounder has made a name for herself in American television, where she now has a major role in the police drama The Shield. Mike O'Sullivan reports, the actress has come a long way from her childhood in Guyana to the lights of Hollywood, and along the way has rediscovered her African heritage. At first, she showcased art in their home in Los Angeles, and two years ago she opened her own gallery in the city.
"It's still the focus of introducing African artists to the United States, but as I'm from the Caribbean, I introduce Caribbean artists, and African-American artists as well," explained the actress. More...
Destiny's Child to Release Greatest Hits Album

On October 25, Columbia Records will release Destiny's Child's greatest hits set, #1's. In addition to such hits as "Say My Name," "Lose My Breath," "Bootylicious" and "Bills, Bills, Bills," the anthology offers two new songs by the trio, "Stand Up For Love" and "Feel the Same Way I Do." Also included is a collaboration by the trio's Beyonce Knowles with Slim Thug, "Check On It," which will appear on the soundtrack to the upcoming film remake of Pink Panther.
